Come Together

13 - 29 March 2008

Auckland is the nexus for a unique collection of cultural entities. Among those entities is a diverse range of Oceanic communities, which together help to form the largest Polynesian city in the world. In 'Come Together', each of the invited artists is part of that terrain. Each is invited as a collaborator, but who or what the artist chooses to collaborate with is theirs to decide. The connections may be familial, professional or even ambivalent but all are engaged in singular explorations of this place and time.

Evotia has collaborated with her sister Eimi Tamua with individual works that share an idea and 'come together'.

Flat White / Black Pearl

1 - 22 March 2008

A group exhibition of Pacific Island artists, whose work has been selected because it is black and/or white, or shades of grey. The title "Flat White, Black Pearl" is built around the premise of being racially specific, with a "colour bar" on the artwork. It alludes to a number of word plays; ordinary and gorgeous, milk coffee with sugar, Polynesians in a white cube.
